Bit of a Break

I’m having surgery tomorrow and have decided to take the next two Wednesdays off from posting here. I’ll be back by February 24 probably with new material since the medical profession is almost as inspiring as airport staff.

About Jen

After acquiring a degree from Vassar College in psychology, I moved to Western Mass where I ran a peer mentoring network for disabled college students as well as activism and organizing around disability issues. I also conducted research on disabled women’s body image. An Upstate New York native, I eventually followed my heliotropic nature to the sun of Southern California. I divide my time between writing (disability fiction and essays) along with moderating San Diego Bisexual Forum which is one of the oldest groups of its kind in the country. In my off hours I can often be found in my neighborhood live music venue enjoying our local talent.

  1. Thanks. I’m just starting to emerge again into the Real World. Took longer than I thought making the moral of this story life never folows a predictable or expected pattern. Guess I needed reminding of that.

  2. Steve,
Headaches still around. They are either slightly less or I’m engaging in wishful thinking.
If you want a detailed update, we should email or something. I’m trying not to let this blog degenerate into a blow by blow account of my personal life. Trying being the key word.

  3. When I start doing that (letting my blog degenerate into a blow by blow account of my personal life) one of my kids generally takes me down a notch by posting the comment “symptom blog?”.

Glad to hear you’re emerging from the Medical World into the Real World.

  4. Katja: I don’t have kids to do that for me, so I will have to rely upon people like you.

Finding that balance can be really hard especially when the friends who read want details whereas strangers just want a blog, if you know what I mean….
